Celebrating her new Resort 2014 collection, Stella McCartney threw her typical English-style garden party in Jefferson Market Garden in the West Village, NYC, as she welcomed a stream of industry insiders and celebrities. While the stars showcased looks from past collections, the models displayed Stella’s newest designs, called ‘The Girl With the Python Tattoo’. Stella explained that her collection is about the harder image of a snake and moments of real beauty.

The theme, obviously, was full of python-embossed jacquard and serpentine prints as well as hearth and flowery paisley prints done in mustard, black, cream and varied shades of pale pink that all evoke a strong and modern girl who is capable of carrying a snake tattoo with confidence.

As for the clothes, of course, shined just as bright as the guest list, the offering was composed primarily of garments with layers of interest to her color story with some specially developed fabrics. For daywear, McCartney showed python-embossed jacquard coats and dresses, and silk pieces printed with a herringbone-like matchstick motif. While evening dresses took a monochromatic turn, with sparkly-yoked dresses, shifts embellished with heart-shaped embroideries, and body-contouring black, white and navy designs.
