Influenced by the perfect blend of fairy tales, vintage Victorian charm, and bohemian beauty creating a free-spirited decadence, the new fall winter collection from Alice + Olivia walks the line between whimsical charm and sharp tailoring, which titled “Enchanted: A Midwinter Night’s Dream”. This new collection is just simply gorgeous featuring a juxtaposition of the past and the present.
While the clothes are dark representing the gloomy mood of cold and chill season, yet it’s suffused with luxe modernity and fantasy, the new collection features sumptuous brocades, rich velvets, regal lace, and shimmering metallic, mixed with monarch butterfly motifs. Stacey Bendet says of the collection, “This season is about sexiness and fantasy – luxury and decadence in a wearable way.”
Throughout the lookbook, the presence of romantic collars, lace blouse details, ruffled sleeves and chokers are paired with miniskirts, flared jeans, and menswear inspired plaid slouchy trousers and the new fitted denim trouser. The overall looks are truly girlish drama combined with tomboy practicality, showcasing simple yet form-fitting day dresses, flared and full pleated skirts in shiny blue shade, long robe-coats, mohair sweaters, fox fur coats, and cap-toe brogues, as well as shimmery blue ball gowns featuring crystal embellishments for a romantic approach.
With glamour embellished studs, crystal and gold flowers, baroque patterns, 1950’s silhouette outfits with a touch of Victorian theme, there are also dreamy prints on tapestry fabrics that are adorned with fine filigree amid jewel-toned blue, green and royal red. While metallic acts as the new black, colors of camel, cream and chocolate serve as a rich neutral base.
Also highlighted in the lookbook are the many Alice + Olivia accessories, started from NYC boots and pumps with signature red tread to the novelty bags such as the “Owl bag”, “Bear bag” and “Bride clutch”.
