The parade of Moschino Cheap & Chic Spring Summer 2013 opened with a live performance of Montell Jordan who played his 90’s hit single, “This Is How We Do It.” As the singer sang “How Moschino anyone …”, the models took to the catwalk presenting a series of Rossella Jardini‘s colorful and feminine collection with hints of playful allure from the 1970’s shapes, colors, silhouettes, and designs.
With a little touch of the 70’s London style, when flares, dungarees, hot pants and sky-high wedges were the thing, the collection abused plenty of vibrant shades and pineapple prints on number of selections such as suits, cropped top, netted shirts, low waisted pants, and even sport shorts. The proposal was brought on screen beautifully, which some of the pieces revealed part of the bodies without, however, seeming sexy.
As for the pineapples, it seems clear that they took the major part of this collection, spreading out through the vibrant colors and sheer-through fabrics, running down the legs of flares, as a motif on the breast of a jacket, printed on dresses, and there were even pineapple bags.
And really, this collection is undoubtedly unique. From the point of view of design, it seems that the designer has made a journey through time in the 70’s proposing lots of flared trousers and abundant bold prints, along with variations of crystals embellished looks.
Staking everything gorgeous on one parade, mini-dresses and strapless cocktail dress were adorably proposed in periwinkle pastel colors, which then paired with colorful sneakers, while crystals embellished orange blazer and matching pants were worn with crystals decorated zeppati sandals.
Throughout the pieces, there were lots of glitters dresses paired with colorful lace-up shoes and sandals, as well as purple oversized sunglasses, acrylic clutch, and crossbody bags in pineapple shape, which all captured perfectly the mixes of chic bon ton and the insouciant eccentricity of Moschino’s design ethic.
