Amazing venue of Opera Comique in Paris was holding the intimate Alexander McQueen show. Ten looks and not one more for Alexander McQueen Fall Winter 2013, and who could better transport history to the catwalk than the one and only Sarah Burton? Being pregnant (with twins) and approaching her due date as well as the Fashion Week scheduled presentation, Sarah Burton sent out ten models walking and wearing pieces reminiscent of Catholic clerics intricate and opulent wardrobe.
Inspired by the high church, popes, cardinals, and the angels, Sarah Burton created pieces that were more haute couture than ready-to-wear for the amount of work that needs to each. The girls were stunning fashion queens, caged in their bedazzled protective masks, with high collars and finger gloves, protected down to their metal covered toes, which all brought Elizabethan history back to life, and where High Church met Ballets Russes and the Virgin Queen.
This collection might feature only ten pieces all together, but obviously, quality prevails over quantity for an extraordinary collection.
