Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Italian brand owned by Aeffe Group, Moschino kicked off the festivities with an extravaganza in the premises of the Sunny Bund Beach in Shanghai that included a runway showcase of the new Resort 2014 collection. And the result proves that Western and Eastern fusion can be a delicate in Rossella Jardini’s capable hands, showcasing some Moschino’s greatest hits, like ladylike bouclé jackets, a nautical knit jumpsuit, vibrant floral frocks, and embellished topcoats.
Throughout the runway, the models don updos, heels, sunglasses, and bright red lips accented the ladylike looks, filled with embellishments of which were loaded up with familiar pearls, ruffles, and trompe l’oeil details. After the nautical medley, the catwalk is taken over by truly gorgeous floral printed sundresses, and the looks transform again to focus on a smattering of khaki and olive neutral separates. Not to mention, number of fresh and modern line-ups like a boatneck sweatshirt and a fit-and-flare, color-blocked dress were updated in sporty neoprene, while a series of pretty foiled jacquard looks gave off a nouveau-chinoiserie vibe that should persuade customers loyal and new.
